The overall mission of Schibsted Products & Technology is to develop the common global product platforms and technology infrastructure necessary to create data and identity based ecosystems; empowering local entrepreneurs, delighting users and driving Schibsted’s future growth. With over 250 million monthly active users under our belt, we’re able to harness huge amounts data to provide insights on a global scale. We’re 46 people who love building things in Schibsted’s Next Generation Products, and we’re building things that make people smarter. We’re pretty big on democracy, and that only works when everyone knows enough to make good decisions.
Our part is to try, fail and nail the next generation of publishing products. We think that they are device-agnostic and personal rather than tailored for the desktop and nobody in particular, and we’re working with all of Schibsted’s publishers to put that to the test. Together, we are the largest publishers of Norway and Sweden, reaching more than half the population on a daily basis. In other words, it’s an amazing laboratory for product innovation.

  • With VG Next, we’re building a newspaper where journalists talk to you, and where you can talk back.
  • With Destination Next, we’re building a publishing platform so the thousands of small publishers can focus on journalism instead of building their own thousands of times.
  • With Sports Next, we’re building a live sports service that is as personal as the people who use it.
  • It’s all a matter of perspective, and you’d have to read a dozen newspapers to get them all. Omni does that for you.
